Possible Causes Of Dog Vision Problems

Dog vision problems are not that uncommon and may be the result of many different underlying issues. Cataracts, for example, may cloud the clear lens of your dog's eyes as they age, making it difficult to see. Fortunately, cataract surgery is fairly common and has a very high success rate. Your furry friend may also be experiencing dog vision problems due to corneal ulcers. These can be brought about by a thorn, or other foreign object lodged in the eye, some form of a scratch, or an in-grown eyelid. The result is that the dog's eye becomes irritated, causing the white ulcer to form and possibly grow quite large. Infections are not uncommon at this point, and to resolve your dog's dog vision problems you will need antibiotics from your vet. If there is a foreign object in your dog's eye, it may become inflamed and surgery may be required.
